Cavaliers-Celtics: 3 Adjustments To Watch For In Game 2

The Celtics?started veteran guard Gerald Green in place of Amir Johnson in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals on Friday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.?

For as much as the game was a dominant wire-to-wire victory for the Cavs, the Celtics may have built some positive momentum heading into Game 2 and most importantly didn’t lay down after trailing by as many as 28 points. His team took an early commanding 30-19 lead while holding Boston to 40 percent shooting. Celtics’ Avery Bradley tried to keep his team within reach and scored nine points. The Celtics likely won’t start as slowly as they did in Game 1, but they just don’t have the horses to compete with the Cavs. He is 12-0 in his Cleveland career against Horford. Boston was down by 22 at halftime which tied the largest halftime playoff deficit at home in franchise history. Boston must find a way to slow down James while not getting eaten up by a supporting cast, which other than Kevin Love’s big game, didn’t produce at its usual high rate. Love was also 6-of-9 from 3-point land. The Celtics seemed to be making an effort to limit the three point attempts, but it came at the expense of letting the Cavaliers live at the rim.

BOSTON (AP) – So much for the Cavaliers being rusty.

James put the final touches to his opponents and dropped 13 points in the final quarter. For the most part, it worked, as Boston cut into the Cavs lead and got a few cheap foul calls.

And while the jersey patches won’t show up until next year, LeBron James showed up to Cavaliers practice yesterday at the TD Garden wearing a Kyrie Irving retro Goodyear Wingfoots jersey.

Seven of James’ first eight field goal attempts were at point-blank range. Love ended with a double-double of 32 points and 12 boards.

17 – Points for Celtics star Isaiah Thomas. “We missed some makeable opportunities”.

“Kyrie and LeBron went out, and I told him I was going to feature him, and he did a good job of carrying the load”, Lue said.

“We just had a real high awareness on (Thomas)”, said Cavs guard Kyrie Irving.

James was, well, James in Game 1.

Other Things to NoteCleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James (23) reacting during the game.

But there’s no denying it has started with James, who has scored at least 35 points in five straight games.

As evident so far in the 2017 NBA Playoffs, the answer is a resounding no. They opened 10-0 last season en route to their first National Basketball Association title.

Things are looking pretty bleak for the Boston Celtics after they were brutalized by the Cleveland Cavaliers in game one of the Eastern Conference finals. And on this night, there was no Kelly Olynyk Game 7 performance from anybody else on the Celtics. Lost at home for the first time since Game 2 of first round against Chicago.
