Marcelo Revels in Fourth LaLiga Title With Real Madrid

Zinedine Zidane described winning La Liga as a manager as "the happiest day of his life" after his Real Madrid side secured a 2-0 victory at Malaga to be crowned champions.

Ronaldo scored his 40th goal of the season inside two minutes as Madrid won 2-0 at Malaga to depose Barcelona as Spanish champions.

Cristiano Ronaldo has slammed critics in the media after guiding his team, Real Madrid, to the La Liga title for the first time in 5 years, stating that he has been painted as a "delinquent" even though he is far from that.

"People talk about me and don't know s***", Ronaldo told Marca.

Zidane won the World Cup, European Championship and Champions League as one of the greatest players of his generation, but said the extra responsibility that comes with being coach made his achievements all the greater. A lot of people didn't want Real Madrid to win La Liga, but we fought right until the last.

The coach also hailed his squad for embracing his rotation policy which he said had been vital to winning the title and praised the players who had accepted being left out of the starting line-up on occasion. "I've won everything with this club, but this title is special".

Unlike the Premier League, it means Real Madrid will have to wait some time before getting their hands on the coveted La Liga crown.

In his press conference after the game, Zidane was only willing to praise his players though: As a trainer, the is nothing better. Stars such as Pepe may leave the club this summer and should they sign a contract elsewhere, coming back to Madrid to lift the trophy may be impossible.

'After 38 games if you are top you deserve, there can be no questions.

Real Madrid will file out against Juventus in the final.

Real took maximum points from those games.

"It was a tough game, and it's been a tough year, but we've been the most consistent and we've been rewarded for that". Consistency has been the most important thing - we've barely dropped any points.

Barca were not to be denied a sixth straight win to end the season though as Luis Suarez bundled home from close range before Messi made amends with his second penalty 15 minutes from time.

"We didn't depend on ourselves".
