Trump Confirms He Is Under Investigation And Blames His Own Justice Department

President Donald Trump continued a campaign on Twitter on Friday against the investigations into possible links between his campaign and Russian Federation.

The President’s tweet sparked immediate speculation about the future of the official, Rod Rosenstein, who wrote a memo recommending Comey be ousted and also later approved the appointment of a special counsel – Robert Mueller – to lead the Russian Federation probe.

The three officials the Post says Mueller is interviewing are Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers and Richard Ledgett, the recently retired deputy NSA director. That is why investigators want to know more about a meeting between Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and executives of Vnesheconombank, a Russian state-owned development bank now under USA sanctions.

Trump’s Twitter response followed days of intensifying criticism of Mueller from some conservatives who have charged the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director and his team with political bias and have claimed his relationship to Comey and an earlier meeting with Trump amount to conflicts of interest.

Mark Corallo, a spokesman for Trump’s private attorney, Marc Kasowitz, immediately condemned the Post report.

Trump called the report “phony” in a Thursday morning tweet.

US PRESIDENT Donald Trump has told his Twitter followers that they are witnessing the “single greatest witch hunt in American history”. “#MAGA”, Trump later tweeted. “I think it would be an absolute disaster if the president were to move forward and fire the special counsel”, Sen. The President has stressed he was not under investigation, and has taken to Twitter to dismiss the entire investigation as a hoax.

The meeting comes a day after lawmakers questioned Justice Department officials about the probe and Mueller’s independence, and after a friend of Trump said the White House was considering firing Mueller.

Trump’s reference of blame is affixed to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who along with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, crafted a memorandum recommending Comey’s removal. Comey said he took this “hope”, coming from the president of the United States, as a direction.

The president has denied that he has any nefarious ties to Russian Federation and has also disputed that he’s attempted to block the investigation into his campaign’s possible role in Russia’s election-related hacking.

Mueller met with Sens.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is meeting with top Republicans and Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee.

It was unclear whether the president’s comment confirming he was under investigation was based on direct knowledge or media reports by NBC News and others that Mueller is examining whether the president obstructed justice by firing Comey. Mr. Kushner previously volunteered to share with Congress what he knows about Russia-related matters.

The letter said the investigation will also probe Comey’s testimony that Loretta Lynch, as President Barack Obama’s attorney general, had directed him to describe an FBI probe into Hillary Clinton’s email practices as merely a “matter” and to avoid calling it an investigation.
