Barry Gibb says man tried to molest him as a child

‘If that doesn’t teach you about life, nothing does. The singer has said that a man tried to molest him when he was just about four years old.

The 70-year-old music veteran also opened up about not wanting to discuss his relationship with shamed DJ Jimmy Savile while appearing on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.

‘He didn’t touch me, but other things happened, and happened to other kids.

Gibb said he’s always had doubts over speaking about the terrifying experience until now. “It’s vivid for me still”.

“I saw a picture of Robin in the paper and I took that picture to my doctor and I showed it to him”, Barry said in an interview with Radio Times.

Asked where the abuse happened, he said the ‘details would be unpalatable’. The Bee Gees star has admitted that a man tried to molest him when he was a child and although he was not touched by the abuser, Barry revealed that “other things happened”.

“In Australia there was a lot of returned soldiers that were damaged, like people are damaged in the war now”, the father-of-five explained. I didn’t want to mention his name. He’ll be taking to the stage without his two brothers Robin and Maurice, who died in 2012 and 2003 respectively.

“I can’t see why anyone would”. “They’d drive up, open the vehicle door and say, ‘You want to go for a drive?’ ‘F**k off!'”

Barry – who is due to perform at Glastonbury in the legends slot on the Pyramid stage this weekend – is the only surviving Gibb brother.

“I learned to say, “Not available” and move the other way”, he added.
