Car bomb in Somalia capital kills at least 7, police say

“More than 10 persons died, 20 others were wounded”.

Police said the death toll is likely to rise because of the number of seriously injured in the deadly bombing, which was the latest in series of explosions in the capital over the past few months.

It has vowed to step up attacks after the recently elected government launched a new military offensive against it.

It aims to force out African Union peacekeepers, topple the Western-backed government and impose its strict version of Islam.

Mogadishu youth on Sunday joined hands to volunteer for a clean up exercise at the Pizza House two days after the eatery was attacked by militant group Alshabaab.

At least 25 people mostly civilans were killed when a VBIED rammed into the popular eatery and gunmen shot out indiscriminately at patrons who were having an Iftaar dinner.

On Friday in neighbouring Kenya the group said they were behind a blast which killed four people and injured 11.
