Man Utd lead the race to sign unhappy Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo has reportedly instructed his agent, Jorge Mendes, to negotiate a return to United, where he spent a hugely successful six years before leaving for Real in 2009.

United are willing to place 230 million dollars on the table alongside their prized asset De Gea in order to tempt the Spanish giants into parting with two of their elite names.

According to Marca, the French manager told Ronaldo that the Real Madrid team needs him and his winning mentality to guide the club to many more victories.

And if Mourinho can be persuaded to take him on as The Star reports that the United boss feels Ronaldo is a wee bit over the hill at 32.

Perez, speaking to Spanish radio station Onda Cero, via BBC, on Monday night following his re-election as club president, also claimed that the club do not want to sell anybody over the course of the summer.

The striker was avoiding talk over his future yesterday after helping Portugal earn a last-gasp 2-2 draw against Mexico in the Confederations Cup.

The Ballon d’Or holder’s representatives Gestifute have denied the accusation, while his club have said they are “absolutely convinced that our player Cristiano Ronaldo will prove his total innocence in this process”. He has been a very important player.

However, a statement from Ronaldo’s management company Gestifute insisted the company, Tollin, which was established during Ronaldo’s time with Manchester United, has acted in accordance with British and Spanish tax laws. This could be stunt in order for Ronaldo to get a pay bump from Real; we’ve seen numerous players do that before, including United captain Wayne Rooney.

“I have no doubt that Cristiano will be able to defend himself”.

In addition to Zizou, Sergio Ramos had also called Ronaldo in a bid to keep him at Real Madrid.

“I know full well what it means to be president of Real Madrid, which is to secure the maximum financial strength and as many titles as possible”, he told those in attendance.
