More Bad News For Jared Kushner as Mueller Follows the Money

Among them are James Quarles and Jeannie Rhee, both of whom Mueller brought over from his old firm, WilmerHale.

Special Counsel Mueller likely “will be archiving these various Twitter rants as supplemental evidence” for the obstruction investigation, Moss, who also is deputy executive director of the James Madison Project, told VOA.

Vice President Mike Pence on Thursday hired his own lawyer to represent him in the special counsel’s Russian Federation investigation.

Kushner has become a top target in Special Council Robert Mueller’s investigation of the alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election for his business and financial dealings with Russian officials, the Washington Post reported. But as the investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russian Federation grows-expanding to include an inquiry into Trump for potential obstruction of justice-Kushner is being dragged from his position as a silent power behind the throne, into the clamorous, white-hot center of the White House scandal.

Just a day after the stunning report that Donald Trump is officially under criminal investigation for possible obstruction of justice, The Washington Post is now reporting that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is looking into Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner’s shady business dealings with Russian Federation.

The high-profile team of leading investigators and experts includes a number of well-seasoned attorneys that have taken on other top cases such as Watergate and the Enron fraud scandal. They are also looking into whether President Donald Trump attempted to obstruct justice.

The White House confirmed on Thursday that Mueller was interviewed – presumably about again running the Federal Bureau of Investigation – the day before he was named as special counsel to investigate Russian meddling in last year’s presidential election.

Ultimately, it would be up to Mueller to decide whether there is enough evidence to recommend pursuing charges on any part of the investigation.

“They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story”.

The President tweeted Friday that he was under “investigation”, which he called a “witch hunt” in another tweet. On Thursday, the Post reported that Vice President Mike Pence has retained outside counsel to help him weather whatever storm might come his way. In a statement, the National Security Agency said it “will fully cooperate with the special counsel”, but declined to comment further.

Contrast that, he said in a later conversation, to the Trump team, led by Trump personal lawyer Marc Kasowitz and including partner Michael Bowe and Washington legal veteran Jay Sekulow.
