Steve Scalise’s shooter had a list with names of other congress members

The FBI recovered the list, which was reportedly handwritten by suspect James Hodgkinson, who shot House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and several others before he was killed by Capitol Police. Hodgkinson was mortally wounded by police.

The news that the shooter had a list of names suggests the shooting was not a random outburst, but instead appears to be a premeditated political assassination.

Scalise and lobbyist Matt Mika remained in critical condition Friday.

The offices of Brooks and Franks said they had no comment, and referred questions to Capitol Police. Fox News reported after this story that Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, Tennessee Rep. Scott DesJarlais and Virginia Rep. Morgan Griffith are also on the list. Apparently, Hodgkinson failed to recognize Rep. Duncan or lost the nerve to confront him, but thankfully the Clinton, SC Congressman left the parking lots minutes before the shooting started. The 2011 shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords led to an orgy of Republican-blaming, mostly based on the fact that Sarah Palin had released a map of 20 vulnerable Democratic districts with a set of crosshairs to mark each target. “I have never said ‘life sucks, ‘ only the policies of the Republicans”, he wrote in another. All the names listed were Republicans.

Investigators said they have not found any evidence indicating Hodgkinson planned the attack.

She said she last saw her husband in March, when he sold off some of his belongings and moved to Virginia “to work with people to change the tax brackets”, Sue Hodgkinson said.

The gunman was believed to have harbored unfavorable views toward Republicans at large, including President Donald Trump.

He was living out of a white Ford van parked two blocks from the ballfield in Alexandria.
