Chelsea have a “serious and strong interest” in signing Sergio Agüero

The Blues have been searching for a top class striker with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang subject to a £63 million bid from Chelsea while Antonio Conte keeps monitoring the situation at Real Madrid, as he prepares to bring in Alvaro Morata, according to reports.

Romelu Lukaku was initially identified as the prime target to fulfil the role, but the Belgian got his head turned following interest from Manchester United.

Aguero fell behind Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order for a starting position last season following Jesus’ arrival.

It seems to defy all logic and City will surely not sell the club icon to potentially their closest title rivals next season – unless, perhaps, Pep Guardiola has something really huge lined up.

While some have accepted the original report, which was posted on Twitter, as truth; the news of Aguero leaving the Etihad for Chelsea should be taken with a large grain of salt. Man City have flaunted Aguero as the Premier League’s best striker and it will be a painful sight for City fans to see in him in Royal blue. Meanwhile, their rivals have also made a decision to jump in and enjoy the rumours too as they’re enjoying seeing Chelsea be linked with countless targets and not sign any of them as of yet…
