The 19-year-old midfielder, a Brazil under-20 worldwide, posted an image of himself at the 5 star Hotel Camiral ahead of his loan switch to Girona FC, which should be announced tomorrow or soon after.
The 19-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year contract after having a medical this week.
Director of Football at City, Txiki Begiristain, said: “We are pleased to welcome Douglas“.
“He is an exciting player with great potential, and everyone here is looking forward to helping him develop his talent and progress in the game”.
According to reports, Luiz cost Manchester City a fee of $12 million, and will head out on loan to Spanish club Girona who was newly promoted to La Liga this year.
Pep Guardiola’s side are thought to have paid in the region of €12m for the Vasco de Gama midfielder but do not see him as part of their first-team plans next season.
City have already broke the £100milion barrier splashing on the likes of Bernardo Silva and breaking two word records in Ederson and Kyle Walker, but it does seem that the signing of Luiz is one for the future.
Douglas is a Brazilian Under 20 global and missed only one match this season for Vasco, who are now 10 in the Brazilian league.
