Israeli security forces shot and killed a Palestinian terror suspect who opened fire as they tried to arrest him.
A Palestinian man was lightly injured Saturday morning after Halil shot at his vehicle on a West Bank road north of Ramallah.
The assailant reportedly opened fire at the West Bank communities of Ateret and Nabi Saleh, on two separate occasions on Saturday, according to an IDF statement.
The soldiers also abducted another young Palestinian man, and took him to an unknown destination.
“The Shin Bet, together with its partners in the Israel Police and the IDF, will continue to act decisively to thwart terrorism wherever it may be and to quickly uncover serious attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces”, the agency said in a statement.
The three Palestinians were later identified as Mohammad Ahmad Mohammad Jabarin, 29, Mohammad Hamed Abdul-Latif Jabarin, 19, and Mohammad Ahmad Mifdil Jabarin, 19.
The flashpoint holy site includes the Al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock.
This does not, however, prevent the Palestinian Authority from continuing its “pay to slay” policy that rewards its citizens for attempting to carry out attacks against Israelis for whatever the reason.
Haaretz quoted the Israeli police stating that the three Palestinians arrived at one of Al-Aqsa gates, and noticed police and military presence, before they opened fire on them and escaped. He was later announced death on charges of being responsible for the shooting.
Israeli forces detained 388 Palestinians, including 70 minors, across the occupied Palestinian territories in June, rights groups revealed yesterday. Hayil Stawi, 30, from Maghar town, and Advanced Staff Sgt. Maj.
