Woman found dead after Melbourne stag do

The men, in town from Canberra, were questioned before four were taken into custody and released overnight.

Victoria Police have released four men last night following the discovery of a body in a Melbourne serviced apartment.

It has been reported the men were part of a group in Melbourne for a bucks party.

Police were called to the apartments on Market Street in the city’s CBD 8am Sunday, authorities said in a statement.

The group of men were believed to have attended the Geelong-Hawthorn game on Saturday evening, before attending Inflation Nightclub’s Cloud Nine until 3am Sunday morning. None of them have told reporters who the woman was or how they knew her.

One of the men reportedly found the deceased woman in the shower.

Homicide detectives believe the woman was in her 20s and say she was wearing a black, long-sleeved top, blue denim shorts and white running shoes.

It’s still unclear how the men knew the woman and her death is being treated as suspicious.

Detectives continue their investigation.
