Abducted 1-year-old boy prompts Amber Alert in Monterey County

An 8-month-old boy who was left inside a running vehicle when it was stolen was found safe in San Jose, California. Police previously said the baby was a year old.

That’s when Ramirez and a nearby construction worker made a decision to snatch the baby from the vehicle.

The baby was abducted when 43-year-old Raymond Randy Gutierrez stole a running Honda Accord with the baby inside from a man’s driveway, Soledad police told the Mercury News in San Jose.

The baby was sitting alone in the back of a auto parked in Soledad when a suspect jumped in the vehicle and drove off, according to the Soledad Police Department. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and gray trousers, and was strapped into a auto seat in the back of a white 1992 Honda Accord with California license plate 6RGB061. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and gray trousers. The suspect’s identity is not known.

Anyone who sees a vehicle or young boy matching that description is asked to contact authorities immediately. Other details were not released.
