Kelly Accused of Holding Women in a Cult, ‘Against Their Will’

Through attorney Linda Mensch, R. Kelly has issued a statement in response to allegations in a BuzzFeed News article published Monday that he is holding young women in an “abusive cult“.

Since 2000, Kelly has been at the center of numerous allegations of sexual misconduct involving minors, with dozens of women claiming that the singer ruined their lives.

One woman who was once in Kelly’s entourage said, “You have to ask for food. He is a puppet master”.

TMZ also reports that cops in Georgia and IL conducted welfare checks for one of the women, at her parents’ request only to be told by the woman that she was fine and “did not want to be bothered with her parents because her father was threatening people”.

They claim the singer refers to the women as “his babies” and he likes them to call him “daddy”.

Parents of an aspiring singer have been trying to get help for the now 21-year-old who has been with R. Kelly (born Robert Kelly) for two years.

The women’s parents and Kelly’s former associates told BuzzFeed News that Kelly keeps six women, ranging from 18 to 31 years old, at both his Atlanta, Ga. and Chicago, Ill. homes. “[She] looked like a prisoner – it was frightful”, she said of her daughter. “I have not talked to my daughter in more than a year”, she said. But she just kept saying she’s in love and [Kelly] is the one who cares for her. I hope that if I get her back, I can get her treatment for victims of cults.

Mack, who claims she had a sexual relationship with Kelly before leaving his circle, told the outlet that the musician allegedly tells the women to wear jogging outfits because he “doesn’t want their figures to be exposed; he doesn’t want them to look appealing”.

Buzzfeed reports that police officers in Georgia and Chicago have visited the 50 year old’s properties but found “nothing illegal”. When the aforementioned Georgia singer was contacted by police, she said that she was “fine” and that she “did not want to be bothered”.

R.Kelly has always been rumored to be a foul dude who preys on young girls (peep the creepy cover of Aaliyah’s Age Ain’t Nothin But A Number album), but new allegations have come forth that signal bigger problems. His infamous 2008 child porn case included an anonymously sent tape to the Chicago Sun-Times on which Kelly allegedly had sex with a minor.
