Manchester City could include Ilkay Gundogan in the squad for their friendly against Girona with the midfielder closing in on full fitness.
Gundogan made 16 appearances for City last season before suffering cruciate ligament damage in his knee last December.
“I think he’s close to coming back”, Guardiola told the club website. ‘Maybe he’ll get minutes in Girona.
“We want the fans to enjoy it and we try to do our best”.
“We played good games against four unbelievable teams”.
The Citizens’ first new arrival ahead of the 2017/18 season was ex-Monaco attacker Bernardo Silva – a player who proved his quality in the previous campaign.
Guardiola, meanwhile, has praised the City board for their part in securing the £43m transfer of Bernardo Silva from Monaco.
Victory over West Ham followed up wins against Tottenham and Real Madrid in an impressive pre-season for the title favourites and Guardiola believes his side are in good shape for their first match of the Premier League season, away to promoted Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
Manchester City have signed a host of attack-minded players this summer- Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva are all players known for their offensive prowess.
“I am so happy because they work well, and especially no injuries”, Guardiola said.
While the move is not likely to materialise, it gives us an idea of what Pep wants from his players and what kind of profiles the club is targeting. “In those terms, we’re so happy”.
