Virginia State Police say a helicopter has crashed near Charlottesville, Virginia, where violent clashes erupted at the site of a white nationalist rally.
No one on the ground was injured, police said.
The helicopter went down about seven miles southwest of Charlottesville, Va.
. According to Bragg, the helicopter crash is believed to have been a VSP helicopter working the protest.
Two people died in the crash, Virginia State Police confirmed, adding that police are investigating the incident.
The crash happened around 5 p.m.in a wooded area on Old Farm Road, The Daily Progress reports.
The names of the two fatalities have not been released at this time.
Fire units and police are at the scene.
Emergency crews are at the scene of the downed aircraft in Old Farm Road, near the Birdwood Golf Course, according to WSET.
