Musk Alludes to Model 3's Battery Capacity on Conference Call

Tesla already has about 500,000 pre-orders for the Model 3.

Tesla Model S and X previously had the HW 2.0 platform which was backed by Nvidia’s Drive PX2.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted representatives for Amber Heard and Elon Musk for comment. When Tesla was courting equity investors during its initial public offering roadshow, he described the company as a “freaking technology velociraptor” set to revolutionise the world. Then the dominos would begin to fall. Up to this point, Tesla’s business model has revolved around selling a relative handful of luxury vehicles. That is likely what Musk means by “production hell”.

Tesla’s cash burn has prompted short-sellers like Greenlight Capital’s David Einhorn to bet against the Palo Alto, California company.

This is Tesla’s first debt deal, which begs the question: Why use debt?

The debt pricing came amid a more than 1 percent drop this week in the iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG), which held gains of less than 1 percent for the year Friday, as geopolitical risks soured the appetite for risky assets. As the report highlights, Tesla has been working on the development of a new supercomputing hardware suite which will help Tesla achieving its goal of introducing full automation to the automobile seat.

That’s where the actress and the innovator are apparently most comfortable sharing. You can call it a view of the future or blind optimism, but we call it a shared mission.

The “Tesla Bears Club” will only grow more frustrated despite their (arguably rational) arguments. That’s the conclusion of analysts combing through terms of the company’s plan to raise $1.5 billion with its debut offering in the junk-bond market.

Last week’s trip onto the earnings stage was no different for Tesla’s CEO.

A spokesperson for Tesla said the bonds will have to be repaid to investors in eight years, but the interest rate on offer has not yet been agreed upon. Before any of those vehicles arrive, however, Tesla will be concentrating on getting 500,000 Model 3 saloons to eager customers. Back during Q1 earnings call, Musk surprised everyone saying the new vehicle wouldn’t be based on the Model 3 platform – and now we get back on track with the auto sharing the same architecture.
