The culprits broke into the house, poured petrol on the bed on which both the sisters were sleeping and set them on fire.
Two teenage sisters from Bareilly were set on fire by an unidentified attacker at their home during the early hours of Friday morning.
18-year old Gulshan’s condition is serious while the 17-year old, more youthful sister Fiza has maintained 40 percent consumes.
The event happened so quickly that she was neither able to see the man’s face nor could her save herself and her sister. By the time the family reached to rescue them, it was too late and they found the girls engulfed in flames.
Both sisters were taken to the District hospital, the younger sister suffered 60 percent of burns and the elder sister sustained 95 percent burns, and their condition is reported by the doctors is very critical.
Jogendra Kumar, the senior superintendent of police said that they are investigating the incident and monitoring every single situation. The police have claimed to have recovered a bottle of petrol and two mobile phones from the spot.
Nawabganj police have filed a FIR against the unidentified person with Section 307 – attempt to murder and other sections of the Indian Penal Code.
