Melvin Gordon, start or sit?

Heading into their meeting Sunday at home with the Eagles (Chargers lead the all-time series 7-4), Los Angeles must prepare for a team that could easily be 3-0 were it not for a tough road loss in week two at Kansas City. Rivers tossed three interceptions in a lopsided loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, who have made an early case for being the best team in the NFL.

The Rams are one of the NFL's exciting stories this season with with a pair of young stars, quarterback Jared Goff and running back Todd Gurley, leading an offense that has scored 107 points through three games.

You have to feel bad for Philip Rivers, who has stayed loyal to this franchise and may never win a ring because of it. That much we know. Rivers had a great game against the Broncos defense. That should be a concern for the Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz. Presumably, Chargers running back Melvin Gordon will be making a comeback on Sunday. Normally that would mean this game should be an easy win, but there is nothing predictable about the Chargers.

First, second-year QB Carson Wentz is emerging as one of the better young signal callers in the NFL. They are also playing in the tiniest venue of all National Football League teams without a doubt.

Chargers tight end Antonio Gates (85) is unable to catch the ball. "I have not been watching the games this season because I am not a fan of the Los Angeles Chargers".

Sophomore and San Diego native Carter Wood has already let go of the need to watch the Chargers play. "He's the guy. I think all the guys have some third-down ability but Wendell has really improved in that area", Reich told reporters at the NovaCare Complex.

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off one of their biggest games of the young season and maybe in the history of Lincoln Financial Field. If you don't trust your kicker then that changes your play-calling and it changes how desperate you become at the end of the game.

At 0-3, the chances would be incredibly slim, but the Chargers could somehow turn the season around.

Stop me if you've read this but the Chargers aren't your average 0-and-whatever team.

For the Chargers to start winning games at this stage of the season would be driven by the hopes of landing a wild card spot. "So we've got to make sure we read our keys".

Prior to the game, Eagles fans loudly booed every Chargers position group that took the field during pre-game warmups and greeted the Eagles with even louder boos.

Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins wasn't fined for clothes-lining Beckham, who celebrated another TD by raising his fist the way Jenkins does during the National Anthem. He did manage 67 yards and a touchdown last week as Doug Pederson had him split carries with Wendall Smallwood.
