Eduardo Nunez (knee) is on Boston's roster for the ALDS

Justin Verlander is still on the mound for Houston and he gets the Red Sox in order, 3 up and 3 down. As a result, Houston will have the opportunity to end Boston's season on Sunday afternoon at Fenway Park. He's the second 2B to do it, and second straight Venezuelan-born player to do it.

It's disappointing, sure, but it's not altogether surprising. In 2004, when the Red Sox fell behind 3-0 in the best-of-seven American League Champion Series, Millar kept saying, "Don't let us win one".

The Stros matchup well with the Red Sox.

If the Red Sox lose on Sunday, they will have finished eight of their last nine seasons without a single playoff victory.

In typical Marwin Gonzalez fashion, he came to the plate in a tie game with two-outs and two on and came through. Chris Sale will likely start in the first game, followed by either Rick Porcello or Pomeranz. Boston has no home runs in the series compared to six for the Astros. In fact, the 8-2 final score was the exact same as the previous game.

Keuchel, who will start opposite Red Sox lefthander Drew Pomeranz, will be making his second Division Series start and third postseason start. The veteran right-hander has been money ever since he arrived in H-Town, allowing just four runs in 34 regular season innings for the Astros down the stretch. Scoring two more runs putting the Astros up 4-2. But two of those comebacks - in 1999 and 2003 - have been turned in by the Red Sox, who also came back from 0-3 to win the 2004 ALCS against the New York Yankees. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th inning he hit a walk off grand slam off closer Craig Kimbrel. Keuchel departed following his two-out walk to Hanley Ramirez.

Farrell said everything is on the table for Game 3, including the possibly using Sale as a reliever.

In other Sox news, Farrell said both Pedroia (knee) and right fielder Mookie Betts (wrist) will be in the lineup.

And bullpen sessions in front of special assistant Pedro Martinez, pitching development analyst Dave Bush and whoever else the Red Sox can find to provide a fresh set of eyes.

Oh, of course, it's baseball, and things can happen, and everything like that. His teams were 7-1 in those games, winning each of the last three. They did slump in a big way in August and, to a certain extent, in September.

"They're a good lineup, and they've had a good offensive lineup all year".

"It's going to take some time to heal, but we don't have that kind of time right now", he said. The Red Sox thought he had recovered enough to contribute in the postseason.

First pitch of Game 2 takes place at 2 p.m. EST Oct. 6 on Fox Sports 1 with Joe Davis, David Cone and A.J Pierzynski on the call from Minute Maid Park.

Through two games, Boston has been outscored 16-4.

What did he tell himself after the third home run?

If the Astros win: They sweep the Red Sox for their first series win since advancing to the World Series in 2005. With their talent, their payroll, their fan base and their own expectations, that just should not be the case. The teams now head off to Boston for Game Three on Sunday.

These Red Sox would kill to get one outing like that. Cleveland beat Boston in three straight a year ago.
