Suburban Philadelphia Republicans break with Trump over Paris Accords

Republican lawmakers are mostly supportive of President Trump’s decision not to withdraw the United States from the landmark global climate accord. However, a glance at the Philadelphia suburbs where Hillary Clinton won the Democratic presidential election shows that GOP lawmakers are not in agreement with President Trump on climate.

Ryan Costello (R-26), Pat Meehan (D-22) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-84) are all members the Climate Solutions Caucus. This group aims to build bipartisan support for climate legislation. The caucus was led by Ted Deutch (D-22) and Carlos Curbelo, a Florida congressman. Twenty-one of its members signed a letter asking President Trump to stick with the Paris Agreement.
